Farm Tour dates for 2011!

Hello all!

Many of you have been inquiring about tours for this year and we thank you for being patient! It can be hard after a long day outside to sit down at the computer and type out a post or a schedule but at long last here it is!

We've changed a few things about the tours for those of you who came out last year and for our new fans here is how we are going to do it this year. There are 3 different types of tours:

1. FREE TOUR

This is an intensive and fun two hour hay wagon ride style tour of the farm. Perfect for families and kids. You will see cows and sheep grazing a fresh "salad bar" of grass, chickens following the cows and cleaning up the pasture, pigs being couch potatoes in the woods browsing nuts, roots and berries and broiler chickens, ducks and turkeys frolicking in a pastoral setting. This is a very interactive tour with plenty of time for Q & A as we go along. Tour is limited to 75 people and pre-registration is recommended. email your contact info, what date you are attending and how many people. jlgreenfarm@yahoo.com.  We will post if a tour is filled up. Please arrive 30 minutes early so we can begin on time!

April. 16th 4 pm start

May. 14th 4 pm start

June. 18th 4 pm start

July. 16th 4 pm start

Aug. 13th 4 pm start

Oct. 8th 4 pm start

Oct. 22nd 3pm start*

2. WATCH IT GROW & EAT IT SLOW    TOUR

What could be better than first learning about how food can be naturally raised, animals humanely treated and the environment sustainably stewarded followed by sitting down to a farm cook out featuring pulled forest finished pork, bbq pastured poultry and grass-fed beef burgers with all the fixin's?

This is a two hour tour where you will learn all about how dinner is grown and then eat it! It doesn’t get any closer to the farm than this, a true farm to fork experience. See how we graze cows, move chickens on pasture and let a pig just be a pig.

At the conclusion of the tour we will sit down to an outdoor cook out and enjoy a true time of getting to know each other around the dinner table. Bring a hat, sun screen and plenty of appetite!

The tour starts at 3pm (please arrive 30 min prior) and dinner around 5 pm. Cost is $35/ adults, $15/ under 12 and under 5 is free under an adult ticket. Pre-register for one of these tours by emailing us at jlgreenfarm@yahoo.com. Tour is limited to 50 people so register early!

May 28th   3 pm start

July 2nd    3 pm start

Aug 6th    3 pm start

Sept. 10th   3 pm start

3. SPECIAL TOURS

If you have a group that would like a specialized or a private tour contact us at jlgreenfarm@yahoo.com about setting a date and time. Cost is a flat rate of $200 for an intensive 2 tour with Jordan. Can be 5 people or 100, same rate applies. This can be custom tailored to your specific needs or wants. More technically specific for a producer/ farmer type of tour or more kid friendly for a home school field trip. Please let us know!

Jordan and Laura, we wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your recent farm tour and dinner. Jordan was great about explaining your farming methods with the "salad table" beef and rotation of animals on the land. My husband and I both learned a LOT and found the information really fascinating (and I don't think I need to tell you that our daughter had a blast). Meanwhile, we're trying more and more of your products and the meats and poultry are really exceptional.

Be sure to set aside a Thanksgiving turkey for our family, thanks! Gabriela
